Ian Carter started out as an agency planner / buyer with TMP, working with many of the UK’s most successful organisations. In ad sales since ’92, as an Ad Manager on Healthcare, Business and Defence titles, Ian was MD of McMillan-Scott / Ten Alps from 2002-2009, during which period he transformed the business into a successful multimedia sales agency. He has a Masters in Strategic Business Management (Westminster) and a Postgrad Diploma in Management Studies (Greenwich).
Likes: Classic cars, snowboarding, having fun with his kids, pretending to be hip. Dislikes: Ladders, earwigs and cucumber sandwiches.
Gareth Macfarlane has run the successful sales team for twenty years, and has built a great service ethic around senior pro’s who know how to deliver positive results. Gareth’s experience was gained at commercial publishers and McMillan-Scott, as well as running a successful business, and his leadership provides both structure and openness to the way that we deliver results.
Likes: Rugby, being ridiculed by his daughters, achieving greatness. Dislikes: Weasels, small helpings, pencil necks.
Tom Baxter Tiffin is an expert sales and marketing manager with a track record in the delivery of creative publishing and events – both in the UK and overseas, gained with Museum of Europe, Waterstones and design consultancies. Tom studied Fine & Applied Arts at Brighton and Manchester.
Likes: Simple, good food, fine art & photography, spending quality time with Matilda & Zac, and car boot sales. Dislikes: Pedants, London pigeons, overpriced pretentious food, chips with mayonnaise.
Ian Lydon-James has worked for commercial publishers in lifestyle and business publishing for seven years, including Making Money Magazine, Smartlife, BT Today, Optometry Today. Ian’s approach is highly consultative, professional and creative – he thrives on a challenge and enjoys his role.
Likes: Wife and kids, a good party, 80′s supercars, a decent pint. Dislikes: Narrow minds, spiders, people who are old before their time.
Natalie Tuerena (Nat) recently joined us from Santander, and has a great track record in sales, managing accounts for TNT, BAA and NCP in the past. Nat’s sporty, is a keen kick-boxer, and has an eye for good design and the finer things in life.
Likes: Travel, socialising, Italian food, shopping and interior design. Dislikes: Bugs, dishonesty, British weather, people that moan, and football.
Tom Marston joined us via Canterbury College and property sales. An all-round sportsman and socialite, he is great to work with and is building a great track record for online, sports and sponsorship sales.
Likes: Carp fishing, partying, rugby. Dislikes: Old people moaning about the youth of today, bad driving, healthfood.
John Howe Marshall joined us via TV Production with Ideal World and marketing in the electrical industry. John is a polished producer and Sales Exec, who understands and utilises new media to the full. John studied Film & TV Production at Cambridge School of Art.
Likes: Stuff from Japan, live music, blogging and movies. Dislikes: Wasps, liquorice and people who get to the front of the queue, but then don’t know what to order.
Bob Handley is the senior statesman in the team, having worked in B2B publishing for the likes of Morgan Grampian. Bob brings a structured and considered approach to all his work, as well as the wisdom and persistence required to consistently achieve at the highest level.
Likes: Real ale, foreign films, motorsport, and anything French. Dislikes: Anyone in their 20′s who thinks the world owes them something, hip-hop, skateboarders and buying petrol.
Beverley Kitchen has worked in Ad Agency account management for 12 years for TMP, Kingsway, Riley’s and Tribal, and applies the same degree of client service that makes these agencies leaders in their field. Beverley studied Fine Art & Photography at Guildhall, and was a prize-winning graduate.
Likes: New Order, most things out of Manchester, most things creative, including creative parenting. Dislikes: Tesco’s, tailgaters, anything with Simon Cowell behind it.
Lee Hillier, our Financial Controller qualified as a Chartered Accountant with a small City-based firm, before moving on and doing stints with Coopers (now PWC) and Deloitte & Touche. Along the way he also qualified as a member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation, lending his skills to a number of clients including advertising agencies and property companies.
Likes: Cooking, cinema, travel and photography. Dislikes: Too numerous to mention, especially PEOPLE WHO DON’T PAY THEIR BILLS ON TIME !!!
